What's this beastie?

Hi,

Does anyone know what this is that invaded my kitchen yesterday? Can't say I've ever seen anything like this before.

It is just under an inch long I'd say. Ignore the trail behind it, it got wet when I accidentally nearly washed him down the sink!

Here is a picture, it's not the best but hopefully good enough for identification & for someone to reassure me it's not likely to be waiting for me later to kick my ass for nearly drowning it!

Thankfully I don't have many characteristics of a caterpillar (unless there is one with massive sticking out ears) as I don't fancy any eggs being laid in me!
