Going to Devon end of the week and fancy stopping here on the return run.

As a child, Jonnie Morris and Animal Magic had close ties with the zoo, so its kind of always been on the to do list.

It's all right I guess, a bit small though and they (rightly enough) don't have a lot of big animals any more.

I'm not a zoo fan but have been to Bristol for my son, the seals/sealions show repetitive behaviours (swimming figure 8 pattern over and over again.) and enclosures are too small (also some depressing young animal deaths recently)

But it isn't all bad and they do well with the space they have.

I much prefer Paignton Zoo if I have to choose one.

Did Paington last year and was quite inmpressed with it.

Exmoor zoo is another in reach - any thoughts ?

If you've been to Paignton Zoo the rest will be disappointing - Dartmoor, Exmoor, Bristol, none are as big. If you can afford the second mortgage I'd give Paignton Zoo another go and not bother with the others.
