Bit stressed out, my cat had a fight, got a ulcer in his eye. He's had a op, 3rd eyelid stitched up and he has a soft cone on his head. The vets said he needs to keep it in while his stitches are in but he' keeps getting the bloody thing off. First time was 30 seconds out of his crate and it was off. I tied it back up and it was off again, third time I tied it quite tight, it stayed on for a few hours but he's got it off again! I don't know what to do, he doesn't seem to be going near his eye at the moment, just laying on the bed looking grumpy.

Aside from reattaching it all the time is there anything else I can try?

Cheers all

Thanks for the reply, I put it back on and it lasted the night, today the mrs has spent some time with him and noticed if it's folded back away from his ears he's not fussed about it so we've left it like that. He still cant get to his eye, fingers crossed it's all good from now on!

Thanks again!

I was hoping if you could get through the night it would be ok but it can be useful to look into alternatives in the future (hopefully never needed though!)

My cat walked around backwards for an hour before twigging that she couldn't walk away from it, was fine after that!

Hope his eye is ok, don't see that procedure done much these days but can give good results

Oh no bless her! He's been fine since we folded it backwards, he's spent most of his time in the window looking like a sunflower/inside out umbrella.

The vet said exactly the same about the procedure, it's not used so much now but he thought it was a good route for Winston, fingers crossed it works well. He's going back next week for a check up, I'll update how we get on.

My cat Wilbur had exactly the same op and it has healed so well you can barely see the scar across his eye.We found the soft collar worked better folded back he still didn't scratch his eye and looked like super cat running around the house smile
