Monday afternoon, the older lady from a few doors down knocked on the door.

She'd seen that a cat that looked like one of ours had been knocked and left by a car a few roads over. (Ours often pass through her garden and tease her timid dog, much to her genuine delight.)

Sure enough, our beautiful 5 year old girl Inara is no longer with us.

Absolutely devastated, and the wife is suffering even more.

All three are rescue cats, we've had them for two years after a fairly horrific experience they went through when a guy that "rescued" them kept them in his shed and let his dog attack and kill most of two of their litters.

I'm consoling myself by telling myself that she had an amazing two years and was absolutely spoilt rotten.

The down side of pet ownership. frown

RIP Inara.

I so sorry, it's always harder to cope with when it's a shock

But she was happy and had been given a wonderful 2nd life with you

Oh I'm so sorry frown. I'm so glad your neighbour took the time to let you know.

My husband and I were shaken up enough when the knock on the door was to let us know our cat had been hit but we were lucky she survived (seriously injured but survived)

Please let your wife know that you gave her a fantastic life and luckily our four legged friends are oblivious to time, just quality of which she had plenty with you.

Devastated for your loss

We lost our 11 month old rescue cat on Saturday. Wasn't there Saturday morning like normal. Sure enough I had a good idea exactly where he was so jumped in the car and sure enough lying in the grass was our beautiful Reggie. How I knew he was there I still can't work out.

Apologise for invading your thread. I just saw yours and wanted to share ours.

Mortified. Devastated.

Hope you and your wife are doing well.

Edit. Not sure why the pictures are sideways!
