So we finally got the kittens settled and happy to be handled, using the litter trays and starting to use the cat flap.

Then for the past 2 weeks the female has been peeing on our and our youngest daughters bed.

We have narrowed down to her getting in the bedrooms in the mornings when we are getting ready, all other times bedroom doors are closed.

We have checked her urine and all good - she still uses the litter trays most of the time!

We clean the trays out ever morning and every evening, we have 2 trays and are using the same litter we always have.

Things we are going to try;

Going to buy another litter tray so we have 3 - thinking maybe she is not using it if is used.

If this doesn't work try covering one or all - we did try putting a big box over one but they refused to go in!

A big cork?

Any other ideas?

Something is upsetting her

A 3rd litter tray could help, the guides say to have 1 per cat plus a spare

Get some Pet Remedy/Feliway diffusers and plug them in they will help to settle her down

When you say her urine is fine - she's been checked by the Vet?

Had a cat do this as a "protest". Used a product called Apis, problem solved.

Our latest rescue cat did this, we put another litter tray in upstairs but also restricted him to the kitchen for a few weeks so he had no access to anywhere he was messing.

Bar the rare times he pees on the dog bed in the living room he's been pretty good recently. We used Feliway or similar spray too, not sure how much it helped.

Are the trays in busy areas?

Yes vet checked her wee and all normal.

Litter trays are in the dining room - near the cat flap, so we can eventually put the trays outside when it's a bit nicer. So no not busy!

Will try an extra tray and see how we get on, fingers crossed.

We have tried keeping them downstairs, but with 2 small children and lots of random people coming and going they always seem to get past the baricades, we thought at least this way they won't get trapped anywhere!

I always kept the trays in separate places. Maybe that will help?

Trays should definitely be in separate locations. Two together in a room is as bad as just having one.
