Superficial Digital Tendon dislocation, any experience?
Discussion
I hope it all goes well for Daisy, I'm sorry I am not familiar with the condition/ procedure I know ligament/ tendon damage has the potential to be more complicated to treat than boney damage but they can do some great surgeries these days.
What I would suggest is referring to a Hydro/physio specialist to assist the recovery period, this does get overlooked sometimes.

This article seems quite favourable to the procedure so try and be positive.

Thank for messages. We dropped her off this morning and she is scheduled at 4.This article seems quite favourable to the procedure so try and be positive.
That article does describe the operation as outlined by our surgeon. He was less upbeat about success rate, but that could be him trying to manage expectations. It's nice to see a more optimistic outlook. Although, he did say daisy's small size may favour her because it exerts less stress.
We have at least 8 weeks cage rest after this, if not 12. That may be the worst part. She is usually the bounciest happiest dog going and won't like being caged.
Case rest is still very commonly advised with any ortho surgeries (sometimes a bit misguidedly) and I wouldn't be one to go against that (esp as I am not familiar with the procedure!) but I would still make some enquiries, a good vet physio will understand what can and can't be done and would only do anything if case vet agrees to referral. If nothing else they can provide tips on keeping the rest of Daisy in shape whilst she heals .
