Hi All,

I've had my car parked in my garage for about a week, when I got in it today I noticed there were some odd things in it.
Can anyone help identify what I have living in my car?

Update: now solved!

Rice? Look for a small asian, generally found near the most central source of electronics(ECU maybe).

Definitely mice - droppings are too small for rats.

You need to get rid of them ASAP, because they can be very destructive to car wiring.

Always wondered..
How do mice get into your cabin? through the bulkhead? Isnt the cabin normally closed off to prevent loss of heat? I cant think of a large enough opening for mice to get through into the cabin. Also nowadays even the underside of most cars is covered up quite well with plastic panels

Mice can squeeze through tiny gaps - this from Rentokil's site:
"An adult mouse can squeeze through a gap smaller than ½ inch and young mice can gain entrance to buildings through even smaller openings."

As said you need to get it out ASAP as they love turning upholstery into nest material & will do lots of damage to the wiring.

Thanks all. Just cleaned up the car and ordered some stronger poison, in the meantime I've left some 'off the shelf' poison in its place. I'm not entirely sure how they are getting into the interior.

Wouldn't hurt to try a trap as well as poison. I'd just imagine it crawling into a heater vent to die...then being gently warmed every morning on the commute to work.

Talking about mice I done a service on a Peugeot camper and once removed the air filter found t20 dead mice at the bottom surprising where they get.
