When we had our rescue pup he was fed on Arden Grange from the dogs trust, so we kept his diet the same.

Now he's 3 yrs old he's a little more picky, doesn't always woof down his food as he used to, sometimes the bowl is left all day, sometimes not. He's not very food centric, doesn't beg for food (you can leave a sandwich on a coffee table and he won't touch it) But sits expectantly in the kitchen (just in case a bit of sausage may come his way) and always comes for a biscuit.

We've tried Iams and sometimes mix the two foods together, he seems to like this. Which dried foods do you feed?

(I don't want to start a dried/wet/fresh argument he's staying on dried)

We use 'not bakers' I can't recall the name. It's very similar to bakers but a bit cheaper at the local cash n carry place. There are two flavours so we swap now & then which stops them loosing interest in it.

We feed our current dogs on a specialist greyhound food, but I have fed previous dogs for several years on CSJ dog food:

http://www.csjk9.com/

They are (or were) very helpful when you contact them and used to send out free samples.

I used to use this but it started to not agree with my two, so I switched to Millies, not looked back since.

We've got two Collies, they get Wagg, working dog mix around £12 for 17kg from the local supermarket. One will eat anything but the other is more fussy. Any time she doesn't eat her food, we mix it with warm water and a teaspoon of Bisto, works every time.

I use Hill's science plan stuff, but I soak it in water, so I prepare breakfast the night before, weigh out the food, and then cover it in water, so it's like a wet food in the morning, then prepare the dinner after they have eaten breakfast, it always goes down well, but they are both very greedy!

Both those sound good, very high meat content in Millies. What was it about CSJ didn't agree with your dogs?

I'm using Lily's Kitchen for my dog. He's just a pup but loves the stuff, hasn't left anything that's been given to him so far. It was recommended to me by a friend who has a fussy cocker spaniel and this was the solution after trying quite a few different options.

James Wellbeloved Turkey and Rice Adult for us. Available in most pet stores and even cheaper online.

Not the cheapest but certainly not the most expensive. It's natural and hypo-allergenic.

This website seems pretty good for sussing out dog foods: http://www.allaboutdogfood.co.uk/dog-food-reviews/...

Wagg for our two with a little bit of cooked chicken mixed in with it, costs about a tenner for a 12kg sack.

Not sure they were fine on it for a while, then they went off it as it started giving them sloppy poo's.

I use James Wellbeloved for my 2 - Suki, the 11 year old gets a Senior mix (lower protein) and Finn, the 2 year old has "Large Breed" adult kibble which makes him chew rather than just swallow.

The output appears manageable, esp for Suki who reacts badly to change - I ran out last weekend so had to improvise with some of Finn's for her dinner which resulted in a large "splat" the following morning!

I am also thinking of using "Bob & Lush" - anyone tried it? Any thoughts?

Our dog does the same. In fact she will wait until we finish dinner and clean up before going to her bowl to eat the biscuits.
I don't think there's anything wrong with the food... I reckon if he/she's hungry enough she will eat wink

Our 16.5 year old Jack Russell likes ASDA's own brand 'Hero' dried dog food best. Chicken, rice and veg variety. Give her more expensive brands and the nose gets turned up. Obviously a bit council, but there we go. She's sixteen and a half, it can't be doing her much harm.

Our working cocker is on Millies as well, great as no additives (it's a bit like having a hyperactive kid!)
Also small family business who are very helpful if you do have any queries.
She loves it, had to buy a new food bowl to stop her eating it so quickly.
