Hi guys,

After some advice really.

We've got a 2 year old yorkie/shih tzi and a 1 year old chihuahua/westie and just got a 9 week old cavalier King Charles/poodle cross yesterday.

Upon initial introduction the yorkie absolutely loved the puppy, no growling, just playing, really took quite a shine to him.

The chihuahua on the other hand wasn't such a fan and looked quite scared, about an hour later the yorkie noticed the chihuahua was scared and changed his tune on the puppy, sometimes a bit interested by him but being quite aggressive and does go for the little one.

How's best to deal with the three of them? Any tips would be greatly appreciated.

Our 14month old yorkie cross is the reason i wont get another yet. We added our border terrier cross when he was young so that was ok but she knows when hes going to be a grumpy little st bag. He is also funny with other dogs as the border wasnt socialised (before we got her) so hes very protective and snappy if a dog scares her. So i can imagine what yours is being like.

Yeah neither of ours before the puppy were socialised properly, both rescues so they 100% don't have the social skills they probably should have.

I must say things have improved slightly, although the constant fireworks really aren't helping.

Id probably take the new pup out on without the other two to socialise and then let it take the st of the other two so it knows where the boundaries are. Our border terrier knows not to come near the yorkie when hes having a chill on my lap as he'll get stroppy! The pup will learn eventually i guess..

I'd leave them to it as much as possible as long as they're not actually drawing blood. It's only the first day and will take a while for the other two to accept a new pack member (who doesn't know the rules) and dogs don't naturally do flower power, love+peace. In the end the new one will be biggest and get it's own back.
