The dog food that our chap was used to has ceased to exist, so we've had to change.

The new ones is seeing him with diarrhoea and a tummy jumping turns together with lovely smells....

Will dogs take a little time to readjust to new food or is this a sign that he's never going to get on with this new one and that we should change double quick?

Ta for any help! Fortunately I was away for the night as I'm told his cage was not a pretty sight this morning!

Yes, most dogs will have a reaction to a change in food. Generally, it's recommended to switch them over gradually (7-10 days) but it sounds like that wasn't possible. I would carry on - changing to something else now will probably just exacerbate the problem.

It would have been possible and planned, but we had my parents dog landed on us for a few more days than was planned, and as a result our food was finished early.... ops.

What was he on and what have you changed to?

The ingredients could be key as to whether it will settle down, how long has he been on the new diet?

It could be the chicken.

Lamb is definitely better for sensitive stomachs.

If you can't get the lamb it may be better to change make with one that uses lamb eg Barking Heads or Wainwright's.
