Hi Folks,

We have recently welcomed Brandy into our family, a staffy mix.

This weekend we have Poppy (one of her sisters) and Kaya the mum staying with us.

All was fun and games last night but the puppies started getting a bit too rough for my liking which I corrected and they slept together in the lounge last night.

This morning I had to work and my gf unfortunately witnessed a proper dog fight between them, lots of growling both have puncture wounds and one has bent one of her baby teeth out of the gum (been to the vets already). Fortunately our neighbour is a doggy type and separated them.

They seem fine atm and I got them back together as soon as I got back from work but I am a bit concerned, puppies shouldn't fight like that !

We have been socialising Brandy since we got her but aren't sure about how many other dogs Poppy has been seeing. Brandy appears to have good manners but isn't afraid of playing if that makes sense.

Is fighting like this purely down to socialisation issues ? There was no toys or food involved.

Obviously second hand reports but 'nothing', they were playing and then it escalated before my gf intervened.

OK, can just be one of them got hurt "playing" and got grumpy about it. Puppies can do this sometimes, they need to learn control etc.

That's what I hoped, guess the bull terrier in them means neither will back off and full scale warfare ensues.

They have been fine since reintroducing them
