lost cat any tips
Discussion
Let the cat out at 20:30 last night and started calling on the hour from 22:00 until 02am, then this morning, no answer.
The cat is a year old, goes in and out a lot. I live in rural location minimal traffic and lots of fields. She is a bit scaty, just not sure how to start. She is a good tree climber but as a kitten did get her stuck once in a chair which requiring sawing to release.
edit to add, her mum disappeared 4 weeks after birth as well as 1 sibling, and dad was supposed to have been a barn cat.

our ginger kitten went missing for two weeks in March and we were out every night looking and putting up notices, also put details on Facebook lost pet pages and contacted local vets.
One morning looked out the back door and there he was waiting to come in !!
He is also a year old so just keep looking and hopefully he will return soon

My wife has two Bengal cats. In the last fortnight, first one and then the other went walkabout for 6 and 5 days respectively. In both cases we had multiple walks round the village and surrounding fields, posters and fliers, the whole works. In both cases each cat just turned up back at the house again pretty dirty and a bit thinner, just like they'd chosen to live rough for a few days. Neither had done anything like this in the previous 18 months she has had them.
Have you phoned your vets to report her missing? Is she chipped?
I agree with Ali re the fox/badger. Most animals have a degree of self preservation so won't seek to play with something that could potentially eat them (always exceptions I know) cats attacked by foxes tends to be urban areas, I hope that isn't it all the same.
It is still early days so stay hopeful for now.

Ah, was asking because if at a vets they should phone you if she was chipped, definitely get in touch with local vets to report her if you haven't already and signs up in.local shops maybe. The Spruce goose said:

Get a cat tracker. Mrs used to worry when Millie went wandering. Works with google maps so you can go find them!5 mins later she is wanting to go back out in the rain..

Never knew about trackers.Ive always wanted to stick one on a cat just for the hell of it to see were they go,especially my ginger tom.The times ive been driving along a far away street and glimpsing a ginger cat saying,"Oh,look, that looks like...oh wait?,it is!!"Love to know what the little sod gets up to.robbocop33 said:

99% of the time it's the novelty factor of looking where they have been, it logs at set intervals over a few hours. Millie's is quite interesting but Moglet's is essentially up the garden for a dump, over the fence & under the bush for a kip.If you have a spare £50 https://www.g-paws.com register with the 'community' and you can view all the moggy adventures!
