Good place to get a staffie
Discussion
So looking to get a little staffie for me and the missus.
Done a bit of research, been to wood green in godmanchester where they had a few but sadly not quite to our requirements. Will keep looking there as its a really nice place, lots of helpful staff.
So does anyone know of any other places that are good to look for staffies? We are looking at one that is around 2 years old, so definitely not a puppy. Can see a few places on the internet but really after people's experiences with places as you don't get that on a website.
Thanks for any info.

Sorry, no personal experience of rescues in your area, but there's lots of good ones on here:

Best of luck, staffies are wonderful dogs, and sadly all too common in rescue
Would The Mayhew be too far? https://themayhew.org/

Of course if you were willing to consider a slightly more mature staffy there is the Senior Staffy Club

Probably too far away for you but have a look here - they always seem to have lots of staffies looking for homes http://www.ncar.org.uk/dogs-for-adoption/
About an hour(ish) from you but worth contacting.
great folks that know their stuff.
I got all four of my rescue dogs from them.

Plenty of staffy rescues around and well worth dealing with.
We got ours at approx 6 months old from a staffy rescue in Birmingham when we lived in yhethe midlands.
£100 cost and she had jabs and had her done too to avoid breeding and more unwanted staffs.
She's the softest thing in the world, if another dog growls/snaps or people she shout she starts shaking like the last leaf in aumtum. Always wants fuss and attention from anybody.

My mum has a rescue Staffy, she's quite a bit larger than the average Staff (The dog, not my mum) and I think, due to her size she has a bit of Bulldog in her.
Lovely temperament, laid back, food obsessed, sofa surfer and a bloody useless guard dog! Words cannot begin to describe just how rubbish a guard dog she is, my mum would be better off leaving a builders bucket full of plankton by the front door to deter burglers instead of relying on Lily the Staff to scare anyone away

great choice of breed.
any excuse to post a pic up of our killer guard dog
and with her little frenchy sister
and my much missed previous staffy who we lost last year
honestly they are great family pets (we have 3 kids and a French bulldog as well as a staffy) so happy to hear you've made your mind up to go for one, especially at a couple of years old. so many people overlook the unwanted staffs out there.
try happy staffy rescue or Scottish staffy rescue. both always have younger staffs looking for loving homes, and whilst your at it you can check my daughters facebook group out (insert rolls eyes) for national staffy day https://www.facebook.com/NationalStaffyDay?fref=ts
keep us all posted how you get on and if you need any advice post away (btw invest in some good quality airfreshener )
