This is not for me. A friend of my sister! Has a tank and fish that she is struggling to find time for so thinks it will be better for the fish to give them up.

I don't think she had thought of selling them but she really doesn't know how to go about rehomed
In them. I just wondered if any of the fish enthusiasts know of any good sites to maybe advertise on.

Below is the message she sent me with info on the fish and tank.

Hi Becky.
I am grateful for any suggestions, if it wasn't for the 3 kiddies & time constraints I'd not even be thinking of getting rid of the fish 😞
I hadn't thought about selling it or the fish, that's something I will need to think about & ask the hubby.
Fish wise, I have 2 clown loaches, 1 is 9yrs( 6 inches ) & the 2nd is 5yrs (4 inches). I have 1 male guppy & 1 female, 1 ghost fish, 1 multicolour mini gourami & another random fish I adopted & not sure what it is (1.5 inches) I'm just staring at them & it's so sad I can't keep them.
The tank is 80cm long, 46cm deep, 36cm wide & comes on a stand.

Thank you in advance for any info.

Not a fish site specifically, but lots of animal lovers on here - they have a section for other animals needing homes:

http://www.aquarist-classifieds.co.uk/ would probably be my first try.
There are quite a few fish forums so may be worth having a look at them. Its common for people to rehome marine fish on some of the marine forums.
Or a local fish shop may be worth asking. I would imagine the smaller ones more likely than the bigger ones.

I would think the only thing worth any money is the tank and equipment etc but may be able to sell it all together with the fish as a job lot.

I have no idea but that seems a bit extreme! Probably take quite a bit of organising which I doubt she'll have a lot of time for. I can only ask!

Quite risky for the fish isn't it?

I did hope but difficult to assess with no smiley to help interpret the tone.

I have no real fish knowledge so for all I knew this could have been a serious query. Bit of a random things to write really!!

Her local aquatic store will probably take them, I take surplus fish (Guppies & Mollies breed like crazy) to Maidenhead Aquatics, they won't pay for them or even allow anything on dry goods but at least they get looked after/sold on

Tank, stand and other equipment can be sold easy enough on Fleabay/Gumtree but don't expect top dollar

Thank you, money isn't really her concern tbh just a safe rehome. I've passed on the above info, she is very grateful, thank you all, the Australia query gave her a laugh aswell smile
