This evening we put our little princess to sleep. She's not been herself for a while and this week she's gone down hill so fast. Suspected diabetics but they couldnt control it through insulin. 12 yrs young RIP Tiger Lilly.

What a beautiful cat.

I am so very sorry; as you say, it's a day all of us pet owners dread frown

Sorry to hear.
A hard day. We look back at think of the life the puss had and that we took good care and did the right thing (apart from the looks we got when we were taking them to the vet or cattery.....). Hurts at the time but responsible owners we have to do the right thing.

She was a very nervous cat, bit of a loaner i suppose. Over the last couple of years she became more friendly even rarely sitting near to me, last sunday she sat on my lap for about 3hours, enjoying lots of tickles under the chin and ear rubs. Its as if she knew that things weren't right.

We had a loner as well, but she was odd in that she would suddenly become your best friend for a week then drop you for a month, fickle as hell. It was on an off over the years. She was the boss of the other three and took no prisoners at the food bowl but real softy if you knew where to tickle. At the end she was cuddling up, at home. Cancerous growth, inoperable. We made the decision when her quality of life dropped past a certain point.

We've just picked her up from the vet. She looks peaceful, they wrapped her in a shirt that i left for her, she's being cremated tonight.

Thank you all for your kind words...she was a lovely cat but...i was on first name terms with the washer woman at the laundrette after she kept pissing on the beds, also any cat bed,cat blanket, cushion that she had to slept on was peed on as well. Quite common with Siamese my vet told me recently.
