Dog bitten crap owner
Discussion
Out for a walk on a local greenway, my dog on the lead because of cyclists etc.
2 Ladies with 2 dogs off the lead one friendly the other a border terrier comes over to our dog has a sniff then starts biting, hanging off his neck by his teeth.
Shout at the little bleeder and it lets go. The owner comes over and says oh he's naughty. Me he's not naughty he's just bitten my dog, put him on the lead. Her well he's not bitten any other dogs.
We walk off, she shouts after us "I'm only looking after him for a friend, she says he's okay off the lead"
I turn round and look, the little bleeder has now attacked someone else's dog 50m away and causing ructions.
I don't want to appear bhy and sometimes things happen between dogs but really some people. No apologies, no lead, no idea.

It's always the feisty little buggers that seem to start the arguments.
I had a Jack Russell go for my boy on a floating pontoon in the Marina last year and had to throw them both in the
water or it wouldn't have ended well for the wee fella.
Then, while i was struggling to get 10 stone of wet Bullmastiff out of the drink some interfering old bint was heard
to tell the Jack Russells owner to report it....she just saw the aftermath and sided with the small dog, as usual.
The owner of the dog was then heard to reply that he wouldn't want to see my dog put down...WTF!!!???
If that wasn't bad enough, the dogs owner rang me the next day chasing vet fees for the puncture wounds on its neck, knowing full bloody well that his dog drew first blood.
Luckily i had 3 independent witnesses who vouched the Jack Russell started it all.
What goes through these small dogs minds?....there is no way in hell any dog which is no bigger than a shoebox, is going to win if it picks on an adult Bullmastiff.
In total for me now its been 2 Jack Russells, 1 Wire Haired Terrier and 3 Staffs which have all had a pop and to be honest i think my boy has had enough!.
Hope your Dog is all ok.

Twice our lab has been attacked by collie and then similar little rat dog. Collie made small mistake, never checked the wellies I was wearing (thank you Travis Perkins)....stroll with our lab lunchtime during major house renovation. Collie...didn't get up. Little rat dog, just stamp on the bloody thing.
I'm sorry if offends, but really...

I don't think there is any need for stamping or kicking dogs. In the end we all like dogs or we wouldn't own them. I'm sorry if offends, but really...
I think we all tend to think the best of our own dogs and the worst of other owners.

The most offensive thing is how that was written. I'm struggling...I'm sorry if offends, but really...
OP, glad to hear you're dog's ok.
Our Border T is the smallest one we've seen but even she can get feisty now & then. We know what sets her off though so try and avoid those situations - basically she hates other terrier bhes!
I believe this stems from her being attacked on 3 separate occasions by 3 different terrier bhes before she was 6 months old. Each of the owners told us it was fine to let our pup come up to their dogs to socialise but then Hell would break loose. Now when she meets a terrier bh she goes all Israeli on them and often tries to attack first in the belief they'll go for her.
If we see another terrier now we always call out to ask whether it's a boy or girl; keep ours to heel, and avoid the others where possible, or clip ours on her lead (which she hates and makes her fear aggressive sometimes) and move away.
Weirdly, quite a few of the bhes she's had arguments with (I wouldn't call them fights as they're usually short, but spectacularly noisy and scary) she now gets on with. I guess it's a case of them sorting out who's where in the pecking order but it's horrible thinking they go through that just to sort things out.
As more than one terrier owner has told us "that's terriers, it's how they say hello!" Wish it wasn't true though.
