Hi all

Just wanted to wish all you guys/girls on here a happy new year. Been one I won't forget losing Ozzy and then gaining Archie.

You all helped me and my wife through a really crappy time when we had Ozz put to sleep and I appreciate that. Humans ain't so bad after all !!

Appreciate your pets whilst you have them. Take Care and all the best.

Barry+Catherine.xx

RIP Ozz

Happy New Year to all others.

Unfortunately our almost last walk of 2014 with Charley, Golden Ret 6 months old tomorrow, ended up with him being attacked by the dog belonging to the landlord of the pub. A known aggressive dog on his own turf, but this was away from there. Charley on his lead and behaving himself, other dog not on lead and just launched.

Checked carefully and can't see any injuries and he didn't seem put off by meeting and playing with other dogs on the way home.

Currently considering what to do. We don't have a dog warden, rozzers have enough to do, but this dog is known troublemaker. Maybe review again tomorrow.

Anyway Best wishes for 2015 to everyone. Hope your 2014 ends with less drama than ours.

Glad the wee man is ok - i'd report it. Was it on a public area? If so and it was off lead report it on 101. Given the time of year you might not get a unit around for a day or two but they will attend.

All the best.

Cheers, he seems Ok and we've checked him over a few times.
Yes it was a public area, footpath close to some canal/river locks. We saw the dog off lead coming the other way and moved to the side by a bench seat.

The two dogs just stood had a sniff nose to nose. The other just launched, bit ours, rolled him over who squealed and went submissive. No way were we getting between them.

Point is we've met quite a few people now who've had problems with this dog in his pub, and out front in the car park and on the tow path. One guy with his puppy same age as Charley had just been attacked and was really scared of our puppy. We just stayed chatting for best part of an hour while the dogs made friends and then had a play together to sort the other puppy out of his fears.

Mind you our force have a lousy record with no answers to 101 but it's probably best to get this on record if we can. Would feel bad if another dog got injured.

Exactly FIf - get it on record - the owner may just require a word in his shell but at least you've tried to protect your's and other dogs in the future. Main thing is he is OK and doesn't seemed to have suffered any psychological damage.
