so i stole a cat !
Discussion
Following on from the recent thread about a cat adopting a owner I thought its about time for my confession !
So last summer I was working in the garage of my mothers house an had the door to the utility room open an the outside door.
looking up I saw a small tabby cat walk in,gave me a hell of a shock as I thought it was my house cat (my house is next to my mothers)an he has never been out in his life !!!
Got an even bigger shot when said cat turns it head to look at me and it only had 1 eye, soon as it saw me it bolted outside but didn't run off
looked a bit thin so put a bowl of food down outside and left him to her to it.
After 3 days got to the stage where I could stroke her and that was it then ! You have never seen a more loving playful cat.
Both me and my son got so we could pick her up and she would follow us around when ever we were about. After a week we put a collar on to see if anyone removed it but it stayed on.
After about 17 days of the first sighting we had a " missing cat" poster come through the door from a couple near by.
Turns out they had gone on holiday for a fortnight an had arranged for a neighbor to feed their 3 cats. Only problem was he thought they only had 2 cats and he never saw the 1 eyed wonder !
Went straight to their house an told them I had found their cat an they came an collected her.
That's when i had my first suspicion things wouldn't go smoothly ! I never had a problem picking the cat up an she was a total sop but when the "owner" picked her up she wasn't keen to relax to say the least an kept trying to escape
They told me she was a rescue cat who had been thrown from a moving car an that's how she lost her eye and why she was so nervous.
2 days later she was on my doorstep again !I know they took her home twice more but she kept returning !
Felt really bad for the owner to say the least as I think they really did love the cat but you know what cats are like I don't think she felt the same !!!
Owner then asked me if I could put her in a basket the next time I saw her an return her,got her an tried putting her in a cat basket an its the only time I have ever seen her distressed an upset an I couldn't go through with it and told them if they wanted to get their cat it was up to them.
Think at that point they gave up,A week late the new cat found out where my bedroom was (bungalow) and that i always have the window open-that was it she has slept on my bed every night since
