Like to share?

One of mine gets a treat (for today's example, a cow hoof stuffed with chicken mince). Now, rather than just settle down and eat said treat, he puts it on my lap. What he wants is for me to hold it whilst he chews on it.

Anyone else have a fool for a mutt who does this?

Yes. My old sadly missed partner in crime Leo used to do this all the time. He'd lay next to me for hours chomping on something while I held it.

Last night I had to hold Phoebe's Jumbone as she can't currently hold anything and she was quite happy to munch away while I held.

Been trying to teach thick Chester how to play 'pull me, tug me' today using a hide ring, he sort of got itm but he's a solitary, happy muncher.

My Jimmy boy used to do this with cigar sized hide chews (and anything that required tough chewing tbh smile) bringing back memories for me smile

My shepherd doesn't actively try and get me to do this but if I held it for her she would quite happily eat or chew it like that.

I remember giving her a big marrow bone (under supervision) and she most definitely didn't want to 'share' - the teeth were out and she started growling. She was about 2 years old at the time and my response was to growl and bark back which resulted in her getting the fright of her life lol It worked though and she no long shows any sort of aggression with treats etc.

He likes to shove disgusting chewed things onto my lap, but if he's eating, he's eating. No problem taking things out of his mouth, but we've done that since he was little.

Yes.

He won't eat any treats until I'm home and sit down
