My dogs behavior. What's this all about.

If he is left alone, he goes in his crate. Not very often once twice a week. Today for three hours.

He happily goes in and just goes to sleep but we always put him a treet in.

He never eats it.

If I get home first he assaults me for 5 minutes then goes and gets his treat ,drops it on me for me to hold and he eats it.

If the others are in first he fusses them, goes and gets his treat and buries it in the garden until I get home.

He then retrieves his now covered in mud treat. Sits in his usual place back of settee paws and head over one of my shoulders and drops the lot in my lap. I hold it for him and he eats it on my shoulder with the occasional lick of my ear. ( yes I know disgusting sloppy muddy food slobber but I love it)

So why does he do that then?

Oh and getting fed up of being woken at 6am we bought an auto feeder. ( can't leave food he will just eat it) we still get woken at 6
He barks until I come down and say take it. But the feeder has a recorded message and I've recorded take it but he still wakes me up.
