What flea treatment are you using? If it's Frontline, there are reports that fleas are becoming resistant to this.

Advocate or Stronghold are the treatments to use. (From the vet.)

Get some environment spray to use in conjunction with the spot-on products, which should be used on all animals that live in or visit your house.

yes

Start using a spot-on, or change the product you are already using.

Get a flea spray for the house from the vet, the stuff the pet shops sell is useless.

Hoover obsessively.

yes

And don't forget to empty the hoover contents afterwards as adult fleas can simply hop back out via the hose.

Buy a flea trap (or two), Amazon sell them. They work wonders at catching the buggars. Was all your linen and hoover like theirs no tomorrow.

Went to the vet today and got acclaim for the carpets and advocate for the dog and cat
I've also got a granulated powder from the pet shop
I've hoovered , sprayed, left for 1 hr then hoovered again then powdered, left for 1 hr then hoofed again, then one more spray which I've left
I also got out the steamer and steamed all the hard floors and nooks and crannys
Will do the advocate once my kids go to bed ,I don't want the kids touching the back of her neck

Will Hoover again tomorrow,
What a ball ache this is!,
My misses has never seen me do the house work so hard

Heat up the house this will encourage the fleas to hatch and the spray to work more efficiently. You may still see fleas for upto 2 weeks, doesn't mean it won't be working.

I'd be tempted to not vacuum tom as you done so much already, do it the day after.

Hoover
Wash your linen
Hoover
Clean & treat your curtains and bedding
Hoover

Flea spray for the house and a different treatment for the dog from the vet.

What ever you treat the house with... make sure it is safe for use around infants.

We were advised last night to continue using Frontline on our dog. Stronghold only treats fleas where as Frontline protects him against ticks & other parasites. Our dog doesn't have fleas so Frontline must be working for him.

If Frontline still works against your local fleas, you may as well continue using it.

Good resource here regarding effectiveness against ticks;

Frontline stopped working its magic in the summer for Murray

Other dogs he associates with on his walks had experienced
the same problem.

We all switched to Advantage and the little fellows went.

Agree with sorting the house and car out at the same time.

Frontline and get Prokill to come round and spray the house. It costs £96 but it works well.

Seen a flea today!!! On my white top, I re sprayed on Sunday just to be sure in the bedroom
Also my dog is still scratching loads , she's a staffy so checking her for fleas is quite easy to spot, she has none on her, but has a few raised bumps on her

Is the back of the neck treatment suppose to make her not appealing to the fleas and stop them once and for all on her

The treatment will kill fleas that go on her. Which one did you use?

I did say in an earlier post that you will still see fleas for upto 2 weeks after treatment, takes a while for the cycles to be completely broken, doesn't mean the treatment hasn't worked.

Keep up with the vacuuming now and keep the house warm.
