This is my bosses dog George, he is 11yrs old now, she took him on when his old owners made him fat then wanted him put down when he got ill because of it and they couldn't be bothered to slim him down again. That was 8 years ago.
Sadly he has just had to undergo major surgery to remove the left side of his lower jaw, due to cancer (now been diagnosed as osteosarcoma, very unusual place to find it) He is actually doing really well since the surgery and may undergo some chemo in the future to slow down regrowth.
As a result of al this I thought he deserved a mention on a page dedicated to bulldogs as he is everything you'd expect a Bullie to be

We have a 12 month old son, who now walks all over Tank. He pulls his ears, steals his toys and even tries to eat his dinner. Tank has never once even thought about getting the 'ump. He is soooo laid back, friendly loveable character it's unreal. Tank also has the capability of breaking every bone in my hand/foot depending on what he's decided to attack! He never has though, as he just 'knows' how to play.
One thing though, he doesn't like big dogs. Bring a tiny dog into my house and he will cuddle it and look after it. A friend bought her German Sheppard in and Tank went ballistic. I'm sure that's just him though and not a Bulldog trait.
I hope I've portrayed Tank as a lovely dog. He is, honestly. It makes it even more surprised when I remember he was so ill-treated in his early life. Eventually his owners tied him to a tree in the Desert and left him for dead (we live in Dubai, 50 degree heat in the summer). Tank was lucky though, his brother was left hanging from the same tree. s.

@Chilli I have an english bulldog named Tank too! He is so cuddly but his snoring keeps me up all throughout the night
Excellent! My Tank sleeps with us and kicks the ste out of me when he has a dream! I've slept in the spare room before due to his snoring. Gorgeous dogs!Chilli said:

I have never known a british bulldog with a bad attitude,my last one passed about 4 years ago now.Once you have had a British no other dog looks right. I still remember my 1st,the biggest nastiest looking one I have ever seen...getting repeatedly butted and shoved around by a stray sheep...he just took it and walked off luv him,and as you say kids..they love kids.Tank also has the capability of breaking every bone in my hand/foot depending on what he's decided to attack! Our baby Winnie! 2 1/2 years old 34kg
And our latest arrival Pete the Frenchie...same age, ex stud, 12kg
Love em to death!

Beautiful. Tank had a mate, Mushy the Pug, but we lost him recently and have been searching the planet for a replacement. Thing is, Tank has grown much more affectionate since this event and we now wonder if its a good idea or not. When I see Bulldog puppies I'm so tempted! And our latest arrival Pete the Frenchie...same age, ex stud, 12kg

They really are the perfect family dog, and I can't express how much I love him!
My new favorite thread!!
Photo overload on the way sorry!
This is Ralph who turned 8 yesterday. Had him from 9 weeks old. He is the most gentle natured dog and so so laid back it's incredible. He's a good size and pretty fit but that said if you mention the word walk he runs to his bed and starts shaking!
In our opinion he is a very pretty bulldog (we would say that though)
Ralph as a puppy -
Ralph grown up!
About 5 years later we got him a little mate Reggie -
It didn't take long and they were best mates, Ralphy smilling and all happy!
This is their usual positions -
Then last October we had a little girl who is absolutely obsessed with the pair of them. They are fantastic with her and are always by her side which is fantastic. Also if she gets upset then you take her to Ralph and Reggie and it's instant giggling! Bulldogs to the rescue
Lastly here is the position they take up when you say walkies, unlike normal dogs who get excited these two run to their beds and sit there shaking looking sheepish!

Mate, those pictures are stunning, especially with your daughter. Beautiful.
Has anyone ever taken their Bulldog swimming? I tricked Tank into the pool once, and it will be his last trip! He really didn't like it and I looked like I had been attacked wheni came out! Bless him, he's snuggled up next to me on the sofa, dreaming and kicking me in the stomach!
