How to get rid of the Goldfish in a pond?
Discussion
Ok, so recently bought a house and the previous owners have left 4 Goldfish in the Pond. Personally I think they are a bit crap and want to fill the pond in.
I've been told sticking them in the local lake is a bit of a no, no. So any ideas how I can get rid of these fish without killing them?

You might have to do what the petshop does before selling them and that's ask questions like: have you kept fish before, how big is the tank, how long has the water been in the tank, do you know the correct food for them, what temperature is the water - we went through all this recently.
I had a damn sight more than 4 goldfish to offload and placed a free ad here: www.preloved.co.uk they were gone in 48hrs

Dead easy this.Have you seen The World is Not Enough? Yep? Well get hold of a helicopter with one of those tree-cutting affairs underneath and attach a series of buckets to the bottom blade. You then have a handy mechanised scoop with which to remove said fish from your garden and an aircraft to transport them to their new home.
Alternatively, as has been pointed out, you could use a net.
The woman at this place may be willing to rehome them for you. She's in Aylesbury, if you can catch and transport them:

What is wrong with just putting them in a local pond?

I released mine into the wild.
Please don't do this. Many nature reserves have all sorts of problems because idiots chuck any old unwanted pets into lakes without any thought about what effect it will have on the wildlife. They, along with koi/terrapins etc, eat native species eggs, larvae, adults as well as causing murky/foul water from their waste and spreading disease to native fish. Just kill them or give them away for free to someone who wants them.
Don't offload the problem on someone else because you can't be bothered to deal with it.
