You've all seen the advert... "imagine a world if cats had opposable thumbs"

Well, meet 'Six Toes'! He lives next door to us, owned by an old bat who doesn't really give a damn about animal welfare and the such like (think i've moaned about her before on here when 'Norm' got killed), as long as it entertains the kids, but isn't allowed inside the house etc. Speaking of which, her new rottweiler puppy, Ruby had suddenly made a vanishing act after she made some contrived comments about wanting rid of it because all it does is poo and its so annoying.

Anyway, Sixtoes' other half 'Crazy Eyes' (it's got a wobbly eye) got picked up by the cats protection league to go off and get spayed after having kittens (that took me alot of persuading to get her to do it) and Sixtoe's isn't the most affectionate cat but since Crazy is away, he has turned into an affection monster, always wanting attention and love. SO I finally got close enough to take some photos of his little 'additions'.

He's started off with double dew claws, hence being named 'Sixtoes' but now he's got 8 claws on one paw, and 6 on another, also has rear dew claws. Cat Protection league reckon he's quite unusual but it might be too late to chop them off (when he goes for neutering) as main blood vessels will have formed, don't know how true it is until he does go for chop chop, hopefully soon.

Yeah I agree, they add to his character if there not harming him. I'm abit worried sometimes that he may catch them and rip it open but he's about 2 years old now so has adapted to them.

Keep feeding him and giving him attention and he'll soon spend a lot more time with you than her.......... For once I think that course of action would be justified...

I'd be suprised if a vet would remove them unless they were causing him a problem.

It's not that uncommon, thought he does have a high number, they're known as Polydactyl Cats

Leave them, he will always stand out from the crowd smile
