I want to upgrade my current 48" Rena set up to a 60" set up. It seems that Rena tanks are no longer available though.

I dont really want to buy a complete new set up though, and would like to try and use my existing cabinet.

Any recommendations for economic bare tank suppliers ?

Any reasons my current cabinet wont take the weight of a bigger tank ? I know I will fit a new top section to it to allow for the greater length, and am happy to modify/strengthen if required.

I would recommend aquacare, but they only stock the Jewel Ultra tanks and they are not very economic.

Windsor Aquatics or Boss Aquariums will do that I think....

Assuming you're talking the Rena Aqualife tanks (beautiful tanks, my show tank is the 120) then from 4ft to 5ft you're talking another 150 litres of water. Which when you factor in substrate and weight of water is around 160kg of extra weight. Personally I wouldn't chance it on the existing cabinet.

Are you looking second hand? Because tank only sales are fairly uncommon. IIRC from when I bought my Rena you could pick up a good condition tank and stand with lighting etc for around the £300 mark.

This smile

I picked up my Juwel (350l) for £150 on eBay. Just borrowed a van to pick it up.
