We have two bengals, they were raised on chicken and royal canin biscuits.

So we buy big bags of frozen chicken from sainsburys, £3.50 a throw, last a week, and then the expensive biscuits are always there as a digestive aid.

This is not what I've know of normal cats, but they love it. But they ate odd, they were both in the bath the other day, water about 5 inches deep and they were fully in there! Mad things.

What do yours eat?

You have just discovered that bengals love water! Ours goes swimming in the steam in the field behind us and is quite happy to join you in the shower/bath if allowed! Think it is quite a common trait for them although being very un-cat like.

Ours will only eat Tesco or Chavda own brand dry food, anything wet or posh gets left. Although chilli peppers, crisps, curry, prawn crackers and onions appear to be fair game if avavilable! Roast Beef Monster Munch can't be left unattended either, about 18 months ago he found the box..... Oh and them bloody Dreamie things...

Ryu who's 15 months has 1 pack of felix as good as it looks in the morning then one in the evening. I sprinkle a small amount of biscuits on top. Biscuits are now applaws or James wellbeloved and are also left in bowl during day.

New kitten Isy who's now 10 weeks had whiskas and hills science plan at RSPCA but we are switching across to the same as ryu, kitten versions though. Strangely she drinks more water and happily eats the biscuits unlike ryu when he was a kitten.

Mogswilliam is (we think) about 18-19 now, so we are quite indulgent. He will usually eat about 20g of whiskas or felix sachet food in the moning, but afte that it's mostly raw chicken, or raw beef or raw turkey. We used to buy it minced, but now it has to be solid meat cut into small pieces. He still has some dry biscuit food from time to time, he used to eat virtually nothing else when he was younger.

Sammy the MPH household cat is a bit of a fussy madam and eats Felix pouches (all but the beef ones - beef eaten under protest only) and Purina one indoor / hairball control biscuits ... (indoor/ outdoor cat but she does suffer with hairballs even with regular grooming.

One of ours only eats dry food, and she loves James Wellbeloved turkey & rice from the pet shop.

The other one eats anything, from pouches, tins, biscuits and wildlife.

How interesting! I stupidly assumed that raw meat would be a bit dodgy for cats, as it is for us. Is it actually preferable nutritionally?

My cat mainly had wet sachets, different flavours and makes so he doesn't get bored, and topped up with biccies.

Dodgy if it contains worm eggs, but that's unlikely in this day and age, otherwise there's no problem that I'm aware of.

Arguably yes. Some people would argue its better for your cat. Afterall in the wild they'd pretty much solely eat raw meat.

I cook the chicken for ours, not totally through, but enough, less messy and very easy to bung in the microwave.

They are fine with off meat too, amazing how their systems can cope with it. They also love eating flies.

We have been told (admittedly by someone selling organic food) that the cat food that shops sell may be linked to cancer in cats as it contains all sorts of s**t.

So we now only give organic food!

My older cat likes licking the lids of petit filous but strangely doesn't like plain tinned tuna but will lick the bowl clean if it's had tuna Mayo.
