Any Degu owners here?

I have never met anyone who has a Degu, infact I have had many people see mine and ask what the hell is it?!

Here is my little Degu, named Peekaboo....



supervised play with her bunny friend..








falling asleep snuggled up to her dad!




anyone else have Degu?!?!

not yet but i keep looking at Degu's as pets

Arent you supposed to have at least two of them though?

yes ideally they should live in pairs, when I got mine she was alone and when put with others was bullied and hurt, this is why when i buy pets I never leave one from the litter! laugh if there were 3 id take all 3, never just 2 laugh I was advised to keep her alone and just give her lots of attention. If i was to get some more id get two or three at the same time ideally...

Never had them but nearly did. When my two Gerbils went (RIP) I seriously conisdered upgrading to the larger model and getting a pair of degu's as my gerbil cage was MASSIVE and could have comfortable fit them in. In the end I decided not too simply because I wanted something more affectionate. I have a cat now, and little rodents don't really mix with cats!

Ah so your her big Degu then


I really really have to fight to walk past the pets@home near me as they have a mother and two of her female offspring in the adoption centre that i really want

Not had a degu (is it "day-goo" or "dee-goo"..?) but have been tempted. Always seem like sociable, inquisitive things.

yeah im her mummy Degu biggrin

ahhh that adoption section is lethal laugh ive had many a rat and hamster from there laugh I can't help it LOL!! they really are great fun and make the sweetest little noise, mine used to sit and "chirp" at the dog for hours LOL
