Horrific. Truely horrific but the right decision. Not real reason for the thread but feeling pretty rough.

Commiserations, been through the same with my cat recently, horrible. You might be better off in the all creatures great and small sub forum though. Not criticism you understand, just a suggestion.

frown. One of the hardest decisions we ever have to make on behalf of our four legged friends, even if it is the right one. Are you up to sharing anything about him/her. (This may get moved to the animal forum)

Sorry to hear that.

At least you know you made the right choice.

Sorry to hear it.

I'm sure it was the right thing.

Basically he had stroke last year. Was not the same and went for my missus at Xmas causing a stich in her hand. He was on his last warning but yesterday he went for my step sons, friends hand as he went to stroke him. Can't take any more risks with him. Probably makes it worse because 99% of the time he was fine but that one time he could go for one of kids or their friends scared us. It was the right decision.

Sorry to hear it. I had to have a kitten put down many moons ago as she was anemic, and was just too weak to carry on. had to hold her when they injected the stuff. Was gutted.

It's a hard thing to do but it's the right thing.

I am sorry. Clearly the right decision but that doesn't make it any easier.

(Sort of offtopic but a friend's OH has a brain tumour and it has completely changed his personality - I am not advocating that he be put down but I know people and pets can really change after changes in the brain)

That is tough. Not his fault but not yours either and not a risk you could take again, so sadly you did the only thing you could do. Try not to dwell on the couple of bad episodes, remember him as he was before his stroke.

Sorry to hear your loss.
It's a terrible time for all when you have to have a pet put down.

Also very sad for your loss, completely understand your reasons - very sad when a beloved pet is changed by a stroke or other illness for the worse.
