Every single dog that ever attacked anyone, ever, had never attacked anyone until the day it did. Do you understand that?
What? I'm beginning to think that some people on this thread need socialization because they've never been around other humans or animals. Virtually any large powerful dog is highly likely to be most dangerous in the wrong hands and XL's in most case are in the wrong hands as were PB's before.
It'll be Cane Corso's next. It'll take a few years, some aggressive trait breeding and some deaths for the authorities to realise what's happening and collate the data and around we go again. PB's were banned in 1991 so that's a 30+ year cycle.
Something needs to be done but a breed specific ban is not the answer. It's just there to appease the masses and long term goes nowhere to solving the problem of idiots with small dicks needing a weapon to enhance their manhood.
And another one shot in Scotland.
"Police have shot dead a “dangerously out of control” bulldog-type dog that attacked a collie.
Three people sustained minor injuries during the incident in East Kilbride on Sunday morning.
Police were called to a report of a large bulldog-type dog attacking a collie dog on Mannering in the town at around 10.25am."

there was an incident the other day at the local row of shops.
Guy goes into bakery, leaves his pretty large dog outside not attached to anything. The dog is on all fours waiting outside the entrance to the bakery, right in the middle outside the sliding doors and in the way of everyone.
One woman with their kid (not much taller than the dog), very concerned as she exits the bakery because the kid is scared of the dog who's in the way. She opens her mouth to him about it. Guy says the dog is doing nothing wrong/good dog etc.. they argue, he gets pissed off and aggressive. They walk out with the kid hiding behind her as she continues to vent her frustrations.
As she's walking away with the kid the guy starts jokingly (but in aggressive shouty manner) telling his dog to get them. The dog doesn't do anything. Several people (ladies s outside who are having a chin wag, this is just after 9pm as they've dropped their kids off across the road) as well as myself inside in disbelief and wondering what if.

I'm not a fan of getting police involved in everything by any means but this could almost be seen as the equivalent of waving a knife at someone. The owner needs a stern talking too.

Sounds to me like this guy isn't responsible enough to own a dog - leaving it in the middle of the doorway blocking everyone, not tied up (could cause a car accident if it ran off, or attack someone), and then disregarding legitimate concerns and effectively waiving a knife. Tosser deserves the dog to be rehomed.

The courts need to start locking up the owners of the out of control dogs and maybe the idiots might start thinking twice before ignoring the laws.
