Birds in your garden/nearby
Discussion
I can see why the collective term for sparrows is a quarrel! I’ve been putting out over 4 fat balls a day for them (and water) and the numbers are definitely up. A group of around 24 live under the eaves and in the hedges.
Boy, do they fight!
I have some wrens too - although they don’t use the feeders.

Only Cuckoo I’ve ever seen was there.
Meanwhile, balls of steel Wood Pigeon was sitting 3ft from our Sparrowhawk this morning.
No balls. They are literally the stupidest things on the planet with wings.Meanwhile, balls of steel Wood Pigeon was sitting 3ft from our Sparrowhawk this morning.
(the birds have wings, not the planet)

20th July we were sat outside enjoying the sun when up above there was noise, looked up to see a drone above us, next moment, according to Merlin there were a couple of Oystercatcher's circling the drone and complaining, drone lifted up and went out of sight Oystercatcher's then flew off.
We asked a keen bird spotter where we walk the dogs about this he said it was very likely the birds were trying to scare the drone away.
Later confirmed by a chap in the village who has a drone, he'd been asked to survey a roof in Leicester, but had to abandon the idea because the local Seagulls started threatening his drone, scared of damaging an impeller he gave up.

Recently have been visited quite often by both woodpeckers and bluejays, which we hadn’t seen before.
In addition to the usual tits, robins, sparrows etc.
It’s nice to have a bit more variety
