Have you put your heating on yet?
Discussion
I haven't yet had to put my heating on as we move more into autumn. I live in a top floor flat in London so it's slightly warmer than other types of buildings and the London location helps too. Ideally I like to be able to get through October without putting the heating on at all but with the single figure nightly temperatures forecast for the next week, I'm not sure if that will be possible.

But why the time limit? Isn't that why we work? So we can be comfortable. If it's cold, don't be a fanny and just put the heating on!
It won't make too much difference to my bill if I turn it on in October so for me it's more of a little challenge and psychological thing. I'm not too keen to acknowledge summer is over and that we're well on our way to winter. Ours has been on for the last 24 hours as we have just returned from holiday and the 6 loads of washing needs drying. The car (our living space for two weeks touring) managed a proper clean between the showers and is now back in the garage.
But in Yorkshire normal rules return tomorrow. Hell - its still hot - shorts weather ! (But I do cycle to work 47/47 weeks - not yet time for leggings).

Mine hasn't been on the last three years, so definitely not. I can't stand it, I'd rather see my breath indoors than put the heating on.
I usually just check it still works and once I feel the rads warm up it goes off again for another year.
I take it you live aloneI usually just check it still works and once I feel the rads warm up it goes off again for another year.

The chair I usually sit in at home is next to the rad, it makes me feel sick when the heating is on. I'm not worried about my fuel bills when I move out as I think i'd be just like you.I usually just check it still works and once I feel the rads warm up it goes off again for another year.
