Another fire door/building reg question. We have a FD30s compliant door between the main house and the granny annexe we've just built. We were of the view that we couldn't paint the door other than with intumescent paint but I now think that this is incorrect and that we can use normal paint or stain on it?

I've tried to find the relevant part of the building regs to check but without success.

Anyone?

Yes, any standard paint is okay, several of my HMO properties have gone through Fire Inspection with gloss painted fire doors.

Fab thanks Wings. I don't know where we got the idea from but it's good news that we are wrong as intumescent paint is stonkingly expensive it appears!
