No, but I've got a sneaky feeling downstairs have theirs on, it gets roasting at 5am every day. I've not had a full nights sleep in 2 weeks.

I put it on when I'm running around changing and washing. Other than that, it's off. It was 17C inside, this morning.

Heating, no, but had a coal fire lit last night and promptly fell asleep on the sofa.
Looking like the same again tonight.

hehe It's always on - thermostatically controlled, so it brings it up to 20 at "getting up time" for a couple of hours. Clearly the bedroom was below 20 at 8am this morning so it fired up.

yes

And so the annual "battle of the thermostat" is reignited.

Luckily my house is like a greenhouse, 23.4c in my living room at the moment, it's a nightmare in the summer though frown

Nope. Had new windows and cavity insulation this year, to go with the 14+ inches of loft insulation I laid down a few years back. We have a towel rail in each of the bathrooms which are linked to the hot water system, and they alone seem to be enough to keep the house warm.

Yes but only because I dropped the minimum temperature a couple of degrees to make sure it was still working. It was so back to normal and hopefully a couple of weeks before it fires up again.

Not a chance.

Central heating goes on in October and not a day before. Even later unless it's really cold.

In the meantime, the woodburning stove takes the chill off the cooler evenings and smells wonderful. cloud9

i'm not sure why heating system piousness is a badge of honour around these parts.

Heating goes on whenever i want it to around here, gas costs peanuts after all.

I seem to feel the cold quite a lot and I usually want the heating on before Mrs.NCoT. Fitted a decent digital thermostat/timeswitch last year so I basically don't touch it now and let the thermostat do its thing.

Mine was on for a couple of hours yesterday, but only because I hired one of those Rug Doctor things and cleaned the carpets. At least I know that it still works!

It felt cold in the house this morning. Normally we leave the thermostat at 17 and let the CH do its stuff. Today I turned it up to 20 and it kicked in...

Was 17C when I woke up at 10am. Too cold to sit around comfortably in a T-shirt or wash in.
