I need to get a multimeter for a present (exciting isn't it!) and have no idea what i should be getting!

Price should be £30-£40, so no Fluke's please smile

If you have any ideas on which are good models then that would be really appreciated.

Thanks

Matt..

Probably just DIY around the house and maybe with the car too... i can't be that much more specific unfortunately.

I am thinking of either:
Draper 78997 - http://www.amazon.co.uk/Draper-78997-Autoranging-D...
or
Extech EX330 - http://uk.farnell.com/extech-instruments/ex330/mul...

Unless you really need an autoranging one you can get a decent one from machinemart for under a tenner, I have an all singing and dancing one for work, its all a bit overkill really.

although there's nothing like a bit of tool porn, and buying expensive stuff can make you feel warm and fuzzy inside wink

I bought the Extech EX330 smile Seems like the best one for that kind of money, and should last a long time!

I got one from B&Q for £10, but all it does is give me a decimal point, so it's going back.
