Morning All

My sister-in-law (no pics btw!) is buying her first property.

It's leasehold and in Surrey and she's paying £160k.

She's got a quote for the conveyancing which seems pretty high so was wondering if anyone one here would have any idea how much it should cost.

Even better, any conveyancing types on here??

Ta.

I've recently bought a leasehold flat, conveyancing quotes were between £850 and £1300 including searches and land registry fees

I'd advise you read and understand the lease yourself as I'm not entirely sure my conveyancer looked at it as closely as I did.

Check, double, triple quadruple check the lease.
1. know what you are liable for property repair wise, access wise,
2. Know exactly how little time is left on the lease, circa 60years is currently considered short enough that selling could be a problem.
3. If the lease length and the liabilities are ok go for it, but make sure you know what the lease requires.

I recently purchased a leasehold property, all in my fees for the entire process were around £1800. My solicitor made a brilliant job of going over the lease and provided an informative summary.

The previous owner of my property extended the lease in 2009 from 50 to 150 years at a cost of nearly £30,000.
