My pristine new lavatoire
Discussion

This was the first room we bodged when we moved in just to make it functional, now it's time to do it properly, first step has been to remove all fittings and the damp concrete floor (laid on wet sand & rubble between existing floor timbers by a previous owner)
I suspect all the plaster will be coming off next and I'll probably need to take out a stud wall to replace the rotten floor timber.
Thought I'd post a pic as it means sitting down for five minutes!

:heh: @ bog roll and copy of Viz wedged in place.
We've done all our bathrooms and cloakroom recently. The cloakroom was the most difficult to sort in terms of fittings decorations trimmings etc as such a small place.
Plus when patched some plaster didn't PVA it properly first so the edges of the plaster patch bubbled. grrrr
T'other day, whilst we were discussing exactly where the bog roll holder should go, I suggested that a perfectly good matching towel rail removed from one of the upstairs bathroom should go on the wall opposite the WC as a straining bar.
Huh, women just don't get toilet humour.

Another reason why the floor had to come out as soil pipe, water main and pipes are all in the wrong place and I want to hide them under the floor. All bathrooms and cloak went back to four bare walls, even drywalling removed in part, and then all options are open. Not all done simultaneously obviously.
Still wish I'd put underfloor heating below the travertine in the cloakroom though, the first time I walked in on a cold morning in bare feet.

LOL! Any Viz top tips worth sharing? Looks like you're having as much fun as we are
We moved in around 20 months ago and haven't really stopped DIY'ing since.
We're currently in the process of replacing our downstairs cloakroom but not had to pull up the floor, just dig a bit out to re-arrange the pipes which were in the wrong place.
Ordered the new toilet and sink on Monday from a certain store where you can buy baths and was told it would arrive today. It didn't, now earliest it will arrive is Tuesday which is the day we go back to work (having taken the week off to finish this amongst other DIY jobs). At least I now know what we're doing on the Bank Holiday weekend.
