improving the garden - landscaping advice appreciated

I thought it would be easier to explain in pictures.

This is how the garden looked when we moved in:



It was basically a jungle that an old couple had spent nearly every day out tending to. It was not practical for us. Also there was 2 ft behind the shed of wasted space at the bottom of the garden.

So 2 years ago we removed the shed and built some concrete foundations for a deck:



We then [stupidly] put loads of stones on the mid section of the garden and left the loosely resting slabs at the top and side of the conservatory.

We are now thinking to restore the top section of the garden as the slabs are very loose and weeds grow through. There is also a slight slope to the garden.

I did the decking myself with the help of my father in law, but don't really fancy doing the decking round the shape of the conservatory as it will require lots of digging out. The only access is through the garage back door to the drive.

So I am looking to get the top section finished off and am looking for recommendations and also expected costs. I like the clinical feel of decking but not sure how much I would have to pay for it ?
