We'll have a room to ceramic tile over a heated floor and I just wondered what is the likely cost for laying 25 sq mtr's of flooring?

Also, can anyone recommend a good ceramic tiler in East Kent (Canterbury area) please?

What size are the tiles, is the heating in the screed or a heating mat laid over it?

Not sure on tile size yet but probably not small ones, I'd guess about 1 ft sq. tiles.

The heating is mating laid over the floor base and then has a levelling compound on top.

I bought marble effect ceramic tiles for about £18 per m^2, so i guess 25m^2 will be around £450. The heating mat was about £25 per m^2 - that's another £600 - do you need to heat the whole floor? Controller = £80. I didn't actaully work out how much the builder charged for tiling my bathroom floor ..

I'd guess 2 days to lay and half a day to grout assuming the self level is done.

Multiply by the day rate for a tiler in your area.

Between £300-£400 labour only is my guess.

Make sure you use flexible adhesive and grout to allow for the movement as the floor warms and cools.

Going rate in north west england £25 - £35 per mtr Sq. some include adhesive and grout some charge you for it. Get at least 3 quotes and see what they average

That's not at all bad if that included the fitting.

OK, thanks guys - that gives me a good idea of whether I'm being diddled when I get quotes.
