Thanks to everyone for the tiling/plumbing tips over the last few weeks!

Finally finished! The missus is off buying colour coordinated towels and accessories this weekend!

Very nice job. Have you done it before/ The tiling looks like it was done professionally, people in my expirence have not got the paitence to do it as well as that.

I like that. Now don't disturb your wife while she does the hard bit.

Thanks for all the nice comments! smile I'm reet proud now!

Never done a bathroom before, I did do some of my kitchen so I wasnt alien to some of the plumbing and electrics, but all the tiling and complicated bits of the kitchen was done (and fked up) by a professional.

Oddly I found the tiling one of the easiest bits. They arent quite as "flat" as the pictures would indicate, a few stand a little pround because the walls were far from flat/even. offsetting the tiles in the brick pattern hides it rather well.

All told I think it cost me just short of £2500, which was more than I wanted to spend but all the timber and "little bits and pieces" added up.

I also spend about £400 on new tools, which was a bit self indulgent as I probably could have borrowed most of them. Bosch Pro' power tools are awesome (if a bit pricey).

Other lessons... compression fittings are a bit poo... turning off the main stop cock DOES NOT stop water from spilling out of the central heating, there is a magic thing called a header tank! smile

Also, DO NOT assume that there are no pipes notched into the floor beams when screwing down floorboards.... that was a wet half an hour...

unfortunately due to the "wet days" in the bathroom, the kitchen ceiling is now like this... utterly fked it with some of the leaks so ripped it out... job for the weekend! smile

Arhh, i still have piece of pipe i had to cut out with the screw attached to it as a momento! (right under the bloody toilet too).

Nice job, get a blow torch for your next plumbing job though, if you can tile you can do solder joints wink

Always assume there is a pipe underneath and only screw near the edge of a floorboard. Pipes are fitted in the middle.
