Removing rust from nuts and bolts
Discussion
Citric acid powder is the best stuff i know. You can get it from brewery supply shops. Just dissolve in some water and drop in your rusty stuff.
Takes about 12 hours but works wonders and is totally safe to use.
If you can't get citric acid lemon juice is a good alternative just takes a little longer.

vinegar and the like will make them rust even more afterwards
how many are you talking about...standard plated stuff is pennys , stainless isnt much more unless its a random size
Its quite a few bits - I am taking a kart apart and rather than buy the specialist nuts and bolts everytime I take some off I'd rather give it a clean otherwise it will end up costing twice as much.how many are you talking about...standard plated stuff is pennys , stainless isnt much more unless its a random size
It will be dry stored and may go out in the wet only a few times a year so I am not worried about furture rust issues.
