I'm looking to build a small lounge area in the corner of the room with a fitted bench. I've been able to build the bench out of wood, but what materials can I use to make the cushion. I think regular foam is going to be a little too spongy so it's going to feel like sitting on the wooden bench bit anyway. Where can I buy a more solid type of foam, like the stuff used to make benchs for garden furniture. Just something I can cut and sculpt to the right shape and then cover in fabric.

Thanks

Does anybody know anything about memory foam - is this available for sale, but not as a full size mattress.

That sounds more like expanded polystyrene!

Seats in boats always seem comfy to me - they're just foam with a cloth or vinyl covering. I'd see what an upholsterer recommends.
