Most manly thing I've ever done!

I have zero practical skills, but had a spare day off yesterday for my birthday so after a long lunch I decided to tile some of the kitchen in the GF's place...

Have I overdone the whole Mosaic thing?

I'm well impressed, had no clue what I was doing, have to grout at the weekend, providing it doesn't all fall off.

I'd have removed the tiles under it to carry on the theme, you also seem to start out randomly around the edges and then have huge blocks of black in the middle.

Good effort though, now you know how to do it you can do the rest biggrin

Thanks ha ha.

Have to admit the little bits come on 300mm x 300mm sheets so the random patern is 'factory set'.

Don't know about doing the rest! I think I've better off sticking to the world of finance, but it was nice to be a 'real' man for a bit.

Thats not bad mate, Ive seen worse from some so called proffesionals!!

Just a heads up, when you grout be ready for some to pop off depending on the mesh backing of the sheets, some can be a pain in the arse smash

I had a go myself recently.

Had some Lavender themed tiles painted by a local ceramics artist. I'm sure it would have been possible for a pro to put them up in a fraction of the time I took but the tiles are very beautiful and I was therefore being more careful than Dr. Careful McCareful on a particularly cautious day in the village of Careful...

I'd have given them a clean before taking the picture to be honest.

I've let beetroot boil over before now, pig to clean up.

OP ...the real tragedy here is you deciding to spend your birthday tiling the other halfs kitchen.

OP - I don't believe you tiled that yourself. I demand you post a picture showing the tiling with a loaf of Warburtons bread to prove... oh hang on...

Yes, satisfying when tiling comes out well. Well done, looks good.

Kudos for the Warburtons, points away as it is mung bean and not super toastie.

Oh and your pattern is out on the 13th row (8th tile in should be black)
