Multi fuel stove with clip in boiler
Discussion
From what I've read, you're right - have a look on greenbuildingforum or navitron. Adding a boiler to a stove not really designed for one can cool the stove down quite a bit and cause tarring of the flue as well. A loading valve eg laddomat or termovar would be useful if your circuit is pumped rather than gravity flow as it keeps the water in the boiler above the temp at which condensation occurs - so burn stays hot.
Thanks
It was the Stove Sales Guy who didn't recommend them. I'm still pondering over the new heating system and did wonder about a stove/boiler/tank/radiators set up but he persuaded me that it wasn't a good option.
So thats that out, don't want to return to oil, air source heat pumps have a few low temp and siting issues, photovoltaic panels suplementing my electric with electric rads seems too long a return, there's no gas, lpg is too expensive. Don't fancy a bio mass cos i'll need a room to store the chips..........not near a watercourse so hydro is out, wind power??
