Anyone got one of these? Don't really need one but love the idea and look.

I'd rather spend £200 on a small AC unit over a fan.

A friend has one and he says it's really good, does what it claims, no buffeting etc. But, he is a huge gadet fiend and doesn't factor cost in to his reviews. I think you've got to really want one in order to shell out for it.

Within a month there'll be chinese copies everywhere for £20.

Personally, I don't think there's enough material in the universe to make one of these, but.... Oh, hang on, you didn't mean a Dyson Sphere did you...

I thought these weren't the first on the market, they have been around for a while.

Aren't these made in China anyway but with none of the cost savings passed onto the consumer?

They were setting up a demo of these in Paddington Station this morning when I came through. If they are still there tonight I will take a look, but it does seem a little steep.

They had these on display at my local curries.
Very impressive, wasn't so mad about the price though.

Got a 12" one last week, and it's great. Seems cooler than a normal fan. Only downside is that you don't sound like Darth Vader when talking through it.

£200, what a joke.

halfords are selling a desk fan for 3 pounds

I have a normal fan used everyday and have never experiecend "unpleasant buffetting".
It solving a problem that doesn't exist

no way this will take offf. A bit like the £1000 dyson washing machine

They are, like his other stuff, a good idea/product but bonkers expensive. These fans are the worst for that.

That site certainly wins the bullst bingo award.

Meanwhile the Chinese churn out normal fans at 50p each and take over the world...

One thing it has got going for it is that it'd be ideal to leave in a baby/toddlers room without fear of them chopping off their fingers.

That said, it's far far too expensive.

Well I bought 2 last weekend and they are marvellous and look fantastic.

Yes they are expensive and yes you can buy a better AC unit for the same money, but I know what I'd rather be looking at.

Admittedly I do want one but £200! Might be one of those 'to hell with the cost I must have it' purchases!

^^^Exactly.

Much like the fact that I have an iMac and a MacBook but I'm still going to buy an iPad.

Damn and blast- capitalism I tells you.
