External gas pipes.
Discussion
Two questions really. The neighbours have just had a new boiler fitted today & a gas pipe runs from the meter cupboard out the wall along our shared driveway & back into the kitchen. It is around 15ft long & around 4ft off the drive level. Is this legal?
Also I was told we couldn't have a new boiler fitted onto a balanced flue as the flue would exhaust onto the shared driveway & this isn't permitted. They've just core drilled the wall next door & we now have a balanced flue at around the 9ft mark pointing into the driveway, is this legal?

Doesn't sound at all correct in my opinion.
Gas installations must be done in accordance with building regs and installed by a competent person in the competent persons register, Corgi in this case.
http://www.planningportal.gov.uk/england/public/bu... gives you all you need to know about the regs.
http://www.trustcorgi.com/Pages/default.aspx will give you some info.
Sorry, can't be more specific than that, but it's a start!
Cheers

Not too sure about the regs with regards to shared driveways, but gas pipework can be run externally as long as it not vulnerable to mechanical damage.
With regards to the flue, you do realise that a condensing boiler will plume a fair bit, if its pointing on to your property it will be a major pain in the arse!
