Long time since I last posted, and I'm not sure if this is in the right place, but anyway . . .

I am looking for a company that sells end mills, index surfacing mills, edge finders etc ...

I have access to a HAAS Mini Mill and the tooling that is available to me through them is frankly rotten. I'm looking for someone who can supply these various parts that I need to take full advantage of it. There seem to be a lot of tooling companies out there but they all seem to require a company account to purchase and if not they are a black book PDF with a number to call. Is there anywhere that just has a normal webstore that shows a decent range of reasonable tools in the UK ?

Try:

My Dad used to go to the modelengineer exhibition most years with a shopping list, the traders list below is a good place to start, as they are geared to the individual:

Alex, are you saying that you have access to a full blown CNC machining centre that has very little tooling to go with it? Most unusual. In my workshop I have a Hass TM2 which I have fully equiped from various sources including Cromwell Tools, Protool, Cutwel, WNT etc. Your spindle is BT 40 just for reference so there is lots of stuff available. I would give model engineering suppliers a miss a their equipment is unlikely to do your machine tool justice.

I missed that; if it is a spiffy machining centre, then yes, don't bother with the suppliers I listed(except possibly J&L) as their stuff isn't really up to industrial use. Unless the stuff you're milling is free-machining, you'll be spending a lot of time toolsetting(which is dull) replacing knackered tools.

Ok ,thanks, I'll look at those suppliers. It is in an educational establishment and I think the budget went on the machine and CAM software leaving little for new tooling to go with it beyond the tool holders and some collets.
