Planting near a fence
Discussion
Starting to think about planting some veg for this year and want to use a strip of soil at the edge of the garden along a fence. Its north facing so is very shaded and doesn't see much sun.
What fruit/veg, if any, would do well in that sort of location? We're planning on doing lettuce, carrots, potatoes, onion, cucumber and tomatoes this year.

Not really doing yourself many favours here with the choice of plot as most fruit and veg need some sun. Will probably be all right with Lettuce, Carrots and Potatoes. Onions Tomatoes and cucumber will struggle. Chard may work ok, Autumn Raspberries, Celery, Courgette. By all means give it a go but if you are bitten by the veg growing bug then find a better spot - there is no point spending time, money and effort to grow a crop that is poor or at best mediocre. It is a very worthwhile thing to do. MarkWhat fruit/veg, if any, would do well in that sort of location? We're planning on doing lettuce, carrots, potatoes, onion, cucumber and tomatoes this year.
