electric rcd tripping out
Discussion
i have a fault with my rcd tripping out which i have narrowed down to my gas central heating, when the hot water only is on its fine but when you put the heating on it trips out after a few minutes, the system doesn't have any valves fitted(rads get slighly warm when hot water only is on) so it must be the pump right? Is there any way of checking this before i shell out on a new pump,or am i barking up the wrong tree, any suggestions before i call a plumber out!

Presuming you don't have access to an insulation tester, you could put the pump on a 3 pin plug and test it in isolation from the rest of the heating sys.
Assuming the sockets are rcd protected, it will still trip the rcd first. Dont mess with electric/gas/water! They dont get on well! Get a pro in to test yourboiler circuit.BTW, is your boiler on the rcd circuit? Up to reg 16 its not required IIRC.
