Water coming into flat has stopped totally, cant hear any drips, etc.... just no water to any taps, boiler, etc.

What could be causing it?

Cant get hold of the neighbours downstairs etc.

Will thames water know what is up on my street or if its my flat and I need a plumber? Not that I want to call one as i dont know the issue yet.

Could be one of lots of different things

-Supply cut off due to maintenance work.
-Leak causing loss/major loss of pressure.
-Pipes frozen?

no issues in flat with frozen pipes as heating has been on at regular intervals, it literally stopped 30mins ago for all water in the flat.

Pressure was fine until 30mins ago, its like all the water just got turned off.

cant hear anything so not sure how i can find a leak if its in the flat below (unoccupied at the moment).

Could be frozen pipes/burst mains. Ask neighbours in nearby buildings if they still have water.

This might well be the clue.

Is it a new build block of flats or an older building/conversion?

If it's the latter chances are the water below you is frozen.

It's quite disconcerting when that happens, especially if you've just finished on the crapper.

I always have a bucket of water in the bathroom handy for such events.

Must happen often for you! I've had it once in about ten years.

Wouldn't there be already water in the cistern? Or is it usually a 'double flusher'? biggrin

They've been fixing a water main at the end of the road today. I was expecting the water to go off....but it stayed on.

In total they must have spent about a year digging up the pipes at this spot. I think there must be 2 sets of everything down there by now!

My god sir, you must crap like a horse.

Let me guess - instead of a red bucket marked 'FIRE' it's a brown market marked 'CRAP'?
