When Smart Ideas Go Bad

Please feel to have a good laugh. I'm having a beer and a laugh at my lack of foresight, so here goes..

Last year when I fitted a new bathroom complete with a supa-dooper 4.5 bar shower pump, I thought I would be clever and use all that pressure to run a seperate feed from the hot water tank to the outside tap so I could rinse off the car etc.

Cue going into the bathroom tonight to hear the shower pump running and no water visible I then felt the hot water cylinder but it was cold Yes, you guessed it; the outside plastic pipe has frozen and split and the pump has drained the tank dry. To make matters worse it has leaked down the side of my house leaving a nice clear pathway and into the neighbours alleyway, and down my drive which is on a slope. Tomorrow it will be sheet ice

So on Sunday while you are all enjoying a nice relaxing day I will mainly be fixing the mess that I created!

If anyone has a worse 'DIY invention' than that please post it here as it will make me feel a lot better

Maybe not a DIY disaster but...................

I don't do housework but one day the missus asked me to do a quick hoover whilst she was shopping.

Dyson type. So off she fecked to Tescos and i got it out the cupboard. For the life of me I couldn't get the nozzle thing off the handle to slip on the suction thingy! So there I am tugging away like billy O (oo err) when I must have pushed the button on the handle and out it popped!

Knocked myself clean out on the Kitchen floor & feckin claret everywhere!!!

4 stitches later and I am now no longer allowed to Hoover!
